Reading Books and Commentaries

Writing of saints/Christian authors through their books and commentaries should be read only for a time and not too engrossed that we miss out on living word of God. These books are meant in order that we may be led to Holy Scriptures and thus to seeing glory and savouring Christ.

However, it’s a great error be only absorbed in them and not comes to Scriptures. The writing of saints wants us to go to Scriptures to know sovereignty of our God, divine providence of God and to help us meditate and study the Holy Scriptures by the enabling power of Holy Spirit given to us.(Romans 5:5). These books are meant to know the treasure and majesty of the Scriptures which is mirror of the majesty of God. Let us not be led away in only those works and come to our home.

Every book we read, or commentaries should lead us to study word of God more and rely on Him alone.

Scripture alone is the living water of which we ought to drink, work and toil all our lives.

I pray that we de not rely on words of saint, but more on the living Word of which we drink all the days of our life. Let us be absorbed in them alone and to seek Lord through them more and more. The dear saints wished by their writing to lead us to see the majesty and grace of God and to walk us to the word of God so we may rely on Holy Scriptures alone. I pray we meditate and ponder the living Word reflecting the glory of God and thus reach out to others through the living Word. God’s Word alone is our bread and everlasting joy & satisfaction as through them we see more of Him.

Holy Scriptures alone is the vineyard where we grow, live, toil and drink deeply of the living water flowing through it.

"But his delight is in the Law of the Lord, And on His Law he meditates day and night."
“You will make known to me the way of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied."
"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life"
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to Your word."
"I have stored up Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."
“Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God
(Psalm 1:2, Psalm 16:11, Matt 5:6, John 6:63, Psalm 119:9,Psalm119:11, Matt 4:4)
